All My Sons was amazing! I actually had another moving company scheduled to come the day before but they never showed up. As I frantically called other moving companies, All My Sons had no hesitation in accommodating me. It was a HUGE relief! All the staff members at All My Sons were amazing to work with. I definitely know who to call for my next move! Highly recommend this company!
From this miserable experience, I can confidently say that there truly is no feeling like having all of your belongings locked in a truck while a company doubles the bill they had set expectations for. I am sorely disappointed that a company featuring so many "family" themes in their marketing would tolerate this level of duplicity within their operation.
I had researched moving companies and at the recommendation of Clark Howard selected All My Sons through the AMSA Pro Mover website. They sent me an Excel worksheet that I used to itemize every single item that would need to be moved. Based on my feedback, Amber led me to believe it would be a small job that would take close to the 3-hour minimum, and my expectation was set that I would be paying reasonably close to the $139 3-man crew hourly rate for 4 hours (the 3 hour move plus a travel hour), or around $550. I understood full well that there might be minor upward fluctuations in that price. When the moving day came a week later, the job actually took over 6 hours and I received a bill for almost $1100, including over $200 for shrink wrap and packing tape. When I objected to the bill, the movers implied that my experience with the drastically inaccurate estimate is commonplace and that the movers often end up being stuck in front of angry customers as a result. Acknowledging that it wasn't the movers' fault and refusing to take my frustration out on them, I agreed to run my credit card for the total and sort it out with dispatch later since company policy does not allow them to unload my belongings until after I paid the bill. After finishing the unloading process, I called Aaron at dispatch and was assured that "the numbers line up" and that they "appreciate the feedback" about the estimation process, but they would not adjust the final bill to better align with their estimate.
Additionally, the last piece they moved, our sofa, although heavy, I expect that a move team knows how to move virtually anything. Apparently not, as the movers (3 man team), banged the sofa into the wall, the mover's shirt was sweaty, so this left a big black mark on the wall as well as the impression of his sweaty body.
BUYER BEWARE: All My Sons came highly recommended, but I also called other moving companies to compare costs, services, etc. I am very good about asking questions up front, to understand the expectations. All My Sons was the highest rate per hour, but after talking to the representative who scheduled my move almost a month in advance, I felt as though they would handle our move most professionally.
When I addressed the damage to the carpet and wall, he said, "File a claim", which I have with a company in Dallas, TX. Won't recommend them to anyone!!!
I couldn't have been more highly disappointed with the entire move. My move date was changed, the move team who arrived had something on their shoes, even though I asked if they had booties to put over their shoes. I understand about the safety aspect of this, but our brand new home, (new paint), new carpet now has black marks tracking up the front stairs and down the back stairs.
pt 2. My last review was taken before i was done. The delivery truck was 30 minutes late. The guys seem nice enough. I asked the guys to take out my laundry from dryer. Before they finished i gave them an excellent review. Then my blankets were left in dryer...I am not able to get to it. So I froze last night. I'm not impressed. I was charged a lot for an easy move. The thing is I will be moving in March out of state. I will not be using All my son's moving
I chose All My Sons despite their higher rate thinking I could avoid this kind of price gouging, but it is clear to me now that I would have been much better off doing more research and choosing a company that offers a free on-site estimate which they actually honor instead of outsourcing the estimation process to the customer via an Excel sheet. From what I see online now, Atlanta Peach Movers is one such company with a guaranteed quote process that should be the #1 thing to secure if you happen to be a consumer who values honesty and transparency in the companies you choose to do business with.
I never will again, but if you choose to do business with this company, buyer beware.
The total cost of our move was close to $2000.00!!! No one broke down the details of the costs of each of the materials, the overtime, (we even stopped and bought them lunch and furnished cold water and drinks throughout the 10 hour move). I know for a fact that I specifically asked, so I knew what to expect...John just kept repeating over and over about material costs, although he never told me what they were, (said he would e-mail me, never received), mover safety, furniture safety, would not provide me with any discount whatsoever, although he knew I had asked up front what each of the costs of the move would be. Had I known, I would have chosen a different company, as we have moved this furniture six times with no breakage of glass, damage to furniture or home and it definitely didn't cost $1,880.00+ dollar. I do not recommend this moving company. I know that they have many good reviews, another reason I chose them, but they don't tell you up front about the hidden costs that are revealed when you arrive at your new home to deliver the furniture.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Moving a one bedroom apartment 3 miles down the road and booked this moving company for a Monday morning a month in advance and spoke with them 3 days before the move to confirm. Come Monday morning we were all packed and nobody came, we finally called around noon and somebody was coming out to move us shortly. At 3 pm we called again and nobody had even been sent out to move us and they refused to send someone until the NEXT DAY after we had already shut off cable and power in the apartment. The next day we called multiple times and couldn’t even get a call back. Needless to say we hired a different moving company after waiting 48 hours for movers who can’t even return a phone call. DO NOT EVEN TRUST THESE MOVERS. Save yourself the headache and money. Fox Moving and Storage in Atlanta had someone out within an hour to help us- CALL THEM FIRST. If I️ could give All My Sons a zero star I️ would in a heartbeat.
